For lecturers and campuses

Supervise with evidence, not suspicion.

PaperQED gives supervisors a citation integrity summary for every thesis they guide, gives the campus one place to set policy, and gives students tools that help them learn. It works alongside Turnitin: Turnitin checks text overlap, PaperQED checks whether the sources are real and support the claims.

A guidance week with Dr. Sari

Dr. Sari Wulandari

Lecturer and thesis supervisor

Fictional persona.

Dr. Sari supervises 10 to 15 students a semester at the Faculty of Teacher Training and Education. She wants to know quickly which theses have citation problems, without reading every bibliography line by line.

Before

  • Checks bibliographies by hand, entry by entry, late at night.
  • Finds a reference that doesn't exist only when an examiner raises it at the defense.
  • Writes the same "source?" comment on draft after draft.
  • Can't tell which students need her help most this week.

With PaperQED

  • Sees an integrity summary for each student who has shared their report.
  • Opens only the problem items: mismatches, references not found, retractions and uncited claims.
  • Comments on the exact item, and the student sees it right there.
  • Spends guidance time on argument and method instead of reference formatting.

What your campus gets

What PaperQED gives lecturers and campuses on the Campus plan.

Campus plan

A supervisor dashboard for every thesis you guide

All your supervised students in one register, with an integrity summary for each student who has shared their Citation Integrity Report: references not found, retracted sources and claims without a citation.

  • Know which drafts need attention before the guidance meeting.
  • The numbers come from the same report the student sees, so you both discuss the same facts.
  • No more checking bibliographies entry by entry.
Campus plan

Comment on the exact problem, not the whole chapter

Open a student's report and see only the problem items: data mismatches, references not found, unverifiable entries, retractions and uncited claims. Leave a comment on any of them.

  • Verified entries are left out, so you only read what needs your judgement.
  • Each item says where it sits: a bibliography entry or a sentence in the manuscript.
  • The student sees your name and the time next to every comment.

Reports anyone can verify with a code

Every Citation Integrity Report carries a code such as PQED-7K2M9QXA. A supervisor, examiner or librarian can enter it on the public verification page and see the numbers the report was issued with.

  • Spot an edited or made-up report.
  • Accept the report as part of thesis submission without re-running every check.
  • Verification shows only the report summary, never the text of the document.

Campus administration in one place

Invite members, connect single sign-on, set the student policy and publish campus citation templates from one admin screen.

  • Set the student policy: guided explanations and questions while students read and study.
  • Publish your campus citation guideline once, as a template every student uses.
  • Manage members and roles per faculty.
  • Single sign-on with your campus accounts: SAML 2.0 or OpenID Connect.
Campus plan

Usage reports for faculty leadership

See monthly active users and usage per faculty, so you can show whether the tool is used and where students need more support.

  • Monthly usage per faculty and per role.
  • Numbers you can bring to faculty meetings and policy reviews.
  • Spot faculties that need more onboarding.
Design principle

Privacy designed for student data

Theses hold personal data and unpublished work. PaperQED is designed to comply with the Personal Data Protection Law (UU PDP, Law No. 27/2022), and each campus gets a data processing agreement.

  • Student documents are never used to train models.
  • Language-model providers are configured without data retention where that option exists.
  • Encryption in transit and at rest, with data isolated per user and per campus.
  • Supervisors see a report only with the student's explicit permission, which can be withdrawn at any time.
Campus plan

On-premise option

For campuses that need data to stay on their own servers, PaperQED can run on campus infrastructure with open-weight language models.

  • Documents and reports stay inside campus infrastructure.
  • Your IT team controls access, backups and retention.
  • Open-weight language models run on hardware your campus controls.
Campus plan

Learn features that teach academic honesty

Integrity is easier to teach than to police. The Socratic tutor, paper explainer, quizzes and defense simulation help students understand their sources and stand behind their own work.

  • The tutor asks questions and gives step-by-step hints that point to the source.
  • Explanations link to the original paragraph, which models good citation habits.
  • Defense simulation prepares students for the kind of questions a panel asks.

Setting up the campus with Bima

Bima Santoso

Campus admin

Fictional persona.

Bima runs academic systems at Universitas Lembah Kertas, a fictional campus. He needs tools that support the integrity policy without adding work for lecturers.

Before

  • Each faculty uses different AI tools, with no shared policy.
  • Student documents end up in services nobody has reviewed.
  • Students' tools produce citation styles that don't match the campus guideline.
  • No numbers on whether a licensed tool is actually used.

With PaperQED

  • Invites members and connects campus SSO from one admin screen.
  • Sets the student policy to guided explanations and questions.
  • Publishes the campus citation template once, for everyone.
  • Sees monthly usage per faculty to report to leadership.

How a pilot runs

Campuses usually start with a small, time-boxed pilot.

  1. Step 1: Talk to us

Agree on the faculties, the supervisors involved and what the pilot should show.

  2. Step 2: Agree on data terms

Sign a data processing agreement and decide where data is stored.

  3. Step 3: Set up the campus

Connect SSO, invite members, set the student policy and add your citation template.

  4. Step 4: Supervise with reports

A few supervisors and their students use the reports and comments during one semester.

  5. Step 5: Review together

Look at usage and feedback with us, then decide whether and how to roll out further.

The Campus plan

Licensed per campus. The price is agreed with each institution depending on size and options such as on-premise, and we start with a pilot.

Questions

  • Are student documents used to train AI models?

No. Documents are not used to train models, and language-model providers are configured without data retention where available. Data is encrypted in transit and at rest and isolated per campus. Each campus gets a data processing agreement, and the service is designed to comply with UU PDP (Law No. 27/2022).

  • Does it work with our SSO and LMS?

Single sign-on is part of the Campus plan. LMS integration isn't available yet. If it matters to your campus, tell us during the pilot.

  • Does PaperQED replace Turnitin?

No. Turnitin checks text overlap. PaperQED checks whether references exist, whether their details are correct and whether sources support the claims made. It is neither a plagiarism checker nor an AI detector, so the two work side by side.

  • What does it cost?

The Campus plan is priced per campus and agreed with each institution, depending on the number of users and options such as on-premise deployment. Students and lecturers can also use the individual plans.

  • Can we start with a pilot?

Yes. Most campuses start with a few supervisors and their students in one faculty, with agreed goals and a joint review at the end. Contact us to plan a pilot for your campus.
