Features

See which sentences still need a source while you write.

The claim detector reads your draft sentence by sentence and underlines factual claims that have no citation yet, much like a spell checker underlines a typo.

What it looks like

Figure 1. See which sentences still need a source while you write. The PaperQED app, shown with sample data.

What you get

  • Each sentence is sorted: factual claim, your own argument, common knowledge, or already cited.
  • Click an underline to see why that sentence needs a source.
  • Search for sources right from the sentence, in any language.
  • Runs in the background, so it never blocks your typing.

How it works

  1. Step 1: Write as usual

Open your draft in the editor or the add-in.

  2. Step 2: Claims are underlined

Sentences that make a claim but have no citation get a wavy underline.

  3. Step 3: Find a source

Open the underline to see why it was flagged and search for a source.
